Access to Island Timberlands Land
Island Timberlands is in the business of growing, harvesting and delivering high quality forest products from its private forest lands. Island Timberlands allows public access for the purpose of recreation and other approved uses when compatible with our forest management policies.
Recreational access to Island Timberlands private forest lands is available only through the gates indicated as ‘Open’. To ensure public safety and the protection of the forest, all unauthorized access to Island Timberlands forest land is prohibited. Please respect signs and gates. Where gates are indicated as ‘Open’, access is available weekends only. Overnight stays are not permitted. Recreational access opportunities to Island Timberlands private forest lands will change based on harvesting activities, environmental conditions (inc. wildfire), and other factors.
Alberni Inlet Trail Stage 1: Due to road construction in the area, the Alberni Inlet Trail Stage 1 (from the first Viewpoint at Ship Creek trail head to Lone Tree Point) will be closed weekdays starting Monday Oct.15 and through mid-December 2018. Please follow signage and directions.
Alberni Inlet Trail Stage 2: Due to operations in the area, please expect temporary delays on the Alberni Inlet Trail (Stage 2) from China Creek parking lot south to Underwood Cove on weekdays, Nov.9-Nov.23. Please follow signage and directions.
Cameron Connector Planned Closure: Cameron Connector to the Cameron Mainline will be closed until further notice staring Monday November 19, 2018 due to harvesting activity on the Cameron Mainline.
Island Timberlands has access agreements with two ATV clubs on Vancouver Island:
- The Comox Valley ATV Club, Contact Oliver by email: email@example.com

These agreements allow for legal and authorized access while promoting safety and respectful use of our private lands. We hope these agreements help build co-operation with ATV club enthusiasts and provide opportunities for those wishing to ride on Island Timberlands’ roads. *Non-club members on ATV’s are not permitted on Island Timberlands’ roads or property
Island Timberlands has an access agreement with the North Island Snow Mobile Club (NISC). The NISC has authorized access to designated roads in our Oyster River Operation. Comox Strathcona Waste Management (CSWM) has launched a program aimed at preventing illegal dumping across the region. This new program includes a public education and awareness campaign and a new illegal dumping bylaw. For more information visit:www.cswm.ca/illegaldumping
Unauthorized access is not tolerated. Unless authorized, ATV’s and snow mobiles are not permitted on Island Timberlands property. Campfires, camping, and off-roading are not permitted. Please respect the environment and keep your vehicles on the main roads at all times.

All persons entering the Nanaimo Watershed to hunt on weekends must present photo identification along with their Nanaimo River Watershed Entry Permit. Youth aged 10 – 17 years who do not have photo identification must show their youth hunting license. First Nations youth can use their status card as proof of identification, along with their Watershed Access Card.
Those without the proper identification will be refused access.
No access to Rheinhart 64 on Saturday November 10, 2018.
